Software & Infrastructure Studio

Luminare Development

A one-person software and infrastructure studio in Austria. Luminare Development builds and documents infrastructure automation, observability and developer tooling, and publishes the work as open source, each project with its code, tests and documentation.

What the studio builds

Nine repositories are public today.

  • Infrastructure automation

Ansible roles and collections, and infrastructure as code that rebuilds a small environment from nothing with one command.

  • Observability

Metrics, dashboards and alert rules collected from outside the process they watch, so a crash does not take the monitoring with it.

  • Themes for existing tools

Themes for the KeyHelp hosting panel and a Roundcube Webmail skin, built on the server from the installed theme, with a Ctrl+K command palette. 1

How the work is published

  • Open-source licences: MIT or Apache-2.0 for code. The Luminare name and logo stay outside the licence (see each repository’s NOTICE).
  • Every change runs through CI: linting, tests, secret scanning and workflow checks, with every action pinned to a commit.
  • Contributions are signed off under the Developer Certificate of Origin (DCO). There is no contributor licence agreement.
  • Security reports are handled privately first, through GitHub’s private vulnerability reporting or security@luminare.tech.

The first public repository

oss-template is the template every new repository starts from. The Open Source page lists what is public today.
